Tacos Huevos Restaurant coming to the Arts District in Downtown Las Vegas
Los Angeles based restaurant, bar, and nightclub entrepreneur Chris Pike is opening a 1,772 Square Foot quick-serve, taquéria-style restaurant with a few gastronomical twists in the Arts District of Downtown Las Vegas. The restaurant will be located in the Corner Building at 1201 S Main Street, which is a redevelopment project of Main Street Investments II, LLC who purchased the property in August 2015. The corner building is an Art Deco style 10,458 SF concrete and wood truss building, and previously was operated as a furniture store.
Why the Arts District? After being introduced to the area by Las Vegas and Los Angeles broker Ryan Misaresh of Simply Vegas Real Estate, Pike immediately saw its potential.
“I’ve seen this kind of hipification before,” says Pike. “It reminds me of Hollywood or Silver Lake before the renaissance there. Young artists will find a place to create, and most of them can’t afford to do what they do in the higher rent districts. I’ve been a part of that kind of creative energy, and I’d love to be a part of it again.”
Indeed, he has been a part of it before. Pike was the formation and design force behind such memorable successes as Joya in Beverly Hills, Hollywood’s Las Palmas, The Side Door in Manhattan Beach, and as previously noted, Sangria in Hermosa Beach. Pike was also co-owner of Sutra in Costa Mesa.
The venue is slated to remain open from 6:00 am to 3:00 am, though these hours are subject to change. The new restaurant will also feature craft beer and wine. Pike's hope is that the up-and-coming area can support an almost 24-hour eatery to gather and enjoy a meal.
Pike also hopes that a place to grab a quick bite is a business the surrounding area near downtown will embrace.
Tacos Huevos is slated to open in August.
